Setari Camp

Setari Camp

The Okavango Delta is an astonishing sight and one of the most magical places on the Planet. A mind-boggling 15,000 square kilometres of palm-fringed islands, thick woodland, intricate waterways, all resplendent with lavish vegetation and rich in wildlife. It is the largest intact inland delta in the world and one which will remain in your heart and soul forever. Tucked deep within the main ‘artery’ of the Okavango on a picture-perfect palm island you will find Setari Camp. The ideal spot to explore and marvel at all this watery wonderland has on offer.

Setari Camp is Setswana for ‘Tree’ and has been lovingly designed to integrate the giant riverine forest and palms trees which dominate the island. Winding walkways, high above the ground, interlink the tents, dining/sitting room, pool and gym, creating a massive tree-house from which to marvel at the panoramic views over the crystal-clear channels and papyrus beds beyond. Situated within a private concession of 120,000 acres of pristine watery wilderness, exclusivity and seclusion are guaranteed. Enjoy a pure Delta experience, inhabited by a myriad of birdlife and wildlife unique to this exceptional ecosystem.

Each of the 8 double tented suites and 1 tented family suite are built high in the trees overlooking the floodplain beyond. They have been stylishly furnished and all have en-suite bathrooms with outside shower and freestanding bath. Our swimming pool, gym and large, airy dining and seating area all have spectacular views over the surrounding wilderness.

Setari Camp is the perfect place from which to immerse yourself in this extraordinary wilderness. Being where it is, the camp has year round water surrounding the island and activities at camp are all designed to give our guest the ultimate Okavango experience. Activities include: traditional mokoro trails, walking and boat safaris as well as cultural visits to the local Jao Village.
