Bushmanland

DESCRIPTION

In the east of the Namibia along the border with Botswana is an area known as Bushmanland, which encompasses the Khaudum National Park and the Kalahari to the south. Here are scattered, small villages where the San Bushmen live their traditional lives gathering roots, seeds, nuts and other edible plants, and hunting.

Khaudum National Park is remote by even Namibiab standards but the more intrepid visitor will be rewarded with large herds of elephants, African wild dog, lion, leopard, buffalo and rare species of antelope such as roan, reedbuck, red hartebeest and tsessbe. To the south, the Kalahari Dessert stretches across eight different countries rewarding visitors with its silence and solitude.
