Manyeleti Game Reserve

DESCRIPTION

Manyeleti Game Reserve is a 23,000 hectare private reserve on the eastern side of the Kruger National Park, with the Sabi Sand Game Reserve to the south, and the Timbavati Game Reserve to the north. As there are no fences between the national park and the private game reserves, wildlife is able to roam freely. Manyeleti is prime Big Five territory, offering exceptionally good opportunities for viewing the elusive leopard as well as lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant and many other species. There are also more than 300 bird species present in the area.

Meaning ‘Place of the stars’, Manyeleti Game Reserve is owned and managed by the local Mnisi tribe. There are only three safari lodges in the reserve and they are privately owned, making use of the land on a concession basis. Visitors here therefore have the reserve pretty much to themselves.
