Babylonstoren is one of the oldest working Cape Dutch farms right in the heart of the Winelands where the first vines were planted over 300 years ago and where the current owners have planted a beautiful garden to fully celebrate the seasons. It is a place to escape and ground yourself amongst the splendour of the mountains and beauty that abounds in the Cape Winelands. Wander the gardens, pick a fresh fruit or vegetable, relax in the spa, take one of the specialist guided walks and dig a little deeper into a vast array of different experiences around the farm. Take a bicycle and ride through the vineyards or orchard, walk up the koppie, maybe feed the donkeys or collect some fresh farm eggs, canoeing and fishing on the farm dam or find a peaceful spot to await the sunset with a glass of wine in hand. The Farm is yours to explore.
The wine is award winning with tastings and cellar tours. The food is deliciously clean with the menus designed around the fresh produce from the garden. Choose a farm to fork lunch at the Greenhouse, explore your senses at Babel or possibly opt for an Italian inspired evening at the Bakery. With a plethora of dining options you will find some fresh farm food to suit your mood.
Accommodation is in simple white farm cottages and suites with a choice of different areas to suit you. Each of the open-plan cottages has a beautiful en-suite bathroom and lounge area with thick farmhouse walls, elegant gables, a hearty fireplace and bookshelves filled with a wonderful selection. Within this pristine Cape Dutch style, a contemporary glass cube kitchen has been added. The suites are smaller but with a lounge area and luxurious en-suite bathroom.. The choice is yours. Whichever you choose, crisp linen sheets await as well as a pair of farm wellington boots should you need them.
Babylonstoren offers a sense of purity, elegant simplicity and quietness where life is uncomplicated but where spontaneity and the unexpected are also celebrated.
